Summer Reading 2014 – Incoming Kindergarten

 

Wherever your summer adventures take you and your family, reading is a great way to beat the heat and relax. So, don’t forget to pack a few tales, including that summer reading!

 

Kindergarten Summer Reading Requirements Required

·         Required

Read Me on the Map AND seven books from the list below, or other selections from the 2x2 or HAISLIN lists.

 

·         Assignment

Postcard Scrapbook – Complete the project detailed below:

1.       Collect postcards from landmarks, or destinations, from the summer. These postcards can highlight events, such as vacations, staycations, activities, and camps. If postcards are not available, photographs can be used.

2.       Students should write about the event, or draw a picture of their favorite memory of the place, on the back of each postcard. Place the postcards on a ring.

3.       Students should prepare to share their summer scrapbook when school starts. We will also mark the summer spots on a collective map.
