PreK-3, PreK-4, and Kindergarten
With dedicated and passionate teachers, student-centered classrooms and an academically stimulating curriculum, The Galloway School Early Childhood Program teaches the necessary fundamentals of education and then goes much further in order to provide an exceptional learning experience…we call, The Galloway Advantage!
The Primary program (three and four year olds) uses practices individually suited to each child. Veteran teachers certified in Early Childhood education provide formal learning activities as well as opportunities for creative expression and play.
Preschool and Kindergarten students receive a solid foundation in literacy through daily literacy, mini-lessons centered on phonemic awareness, phonics, emerging reading and writing skills, and the proper development of fine motor skills through our Handwriting Without Tears Program. Our early childhood curriculum is designed to lead students toward a gradual progression of independence as they learn how to listen, read, count, complete assignments, share, write, blend sounds, work together, use manners, follow directions, and a plethora of foundational life skills so critical in the early learning process.
We are ready for digital learning in Preschool and Kindergarten. Our students bring their own mobile device to school two days a week on Tuesdays and Thursdays. Techy “T Days provide a variety of opportunities for students to use visual tools, applications, games, and activities using their own iPad or other mobile device. Students also work in pairs or individually in literacy and math work stations to reinforce learning and teach independence.
Our young learners embrace a healthy curiosity about life and become proactive participants in the learning process through an integrated curriculum, center-oriented classrooms and “hands-on, minds-on” activities. We set our little geniuses on the path to question, reason, create, and problem-solve through active exploration, creative play and authentic academic experiences.
