What a grand week this will be--the STEMlab officially opens for business. Third grade will be the first students to use the lab as we explore the properties of matter.
All students from 4 years olds to 5th graders should be able to tell what matter is, name an attribute (the describing word) or a property (the measuring word), and be able
to sort objects into groups based on the info they collect using their senses.
Along the way, we will be learning about lab safety and procedures. Our motto is "in this place, we think like scientists and work like engineers". Can you guess what that means?
I know that many of you parents are scientists and engineers. What do you do in your jobs everyday that is different from a non-scientist or non-engineer?
