Welcome to Art!

Artists are excellent problem solvers and students learn higher levels of cognitive thinking from solving problems through artistic expression.  This form of critical thinking is a life skill that allows students to think creatively to answer questions that are not objective issues, but rather very subjective issues.  This is a form of decision making that gives them the skills they need to confidently process real life decision making.

This is my seventh year at The Galloway School.   I have taught all levels of art in both public and private schools.  I have also taught private lessons for ages 3-83.  I am a practicing artist and my website is www.lisamotleyart.com.  My work consists primarily of paintings from favorite photographs.  I have a son, Mahon and a daughter, Audra.   My husband, Red, and I have been married for 33 years.

When I am relaxing at home I love to spend time with my family and my two dogs, Domino and Layla.
