Our History
In 1993 the Galloway School, the vision of Mr. James H. Galloway, opened its doors to 19 students in the Clear Lake area. Mr. Galloway was an employee of Humble Oil & Refining and Exxon for 43 years and served as senior Vice President, as a member of the Board of Directors, and on the Management Committee.
Since the opening of its doors in 1993, The Galloway School has grown from 19 students to 204. The school experienced some major administrative and financial hardships from September 1994 through May 1995, and these plagued the school until a new administration and a new Board of Trustees were appointed. Through extensive marketing, fiduciary responsibility, Board involvement, and an advanced curriculum promoting thinking skills, the school has excelled above and beyond all other private schools in the Clear Lake and Friendswood areas in academics.
