Student Awards

Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) Student Award - First Place Winner
     Awarded to Miss Hannah Wimberly, 7th grade & Miss Nikki de los Reyes, 5th grade
     - These awards are in recognition of essays on the spies of the revolution.
     ~The Galloway School has won the DAR Student Award for 9 years running~

  Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) Award - Winner
    Awarded to Miss Mekenzie Rockey, 4th Grade
     - This award is in recognition of an essay on Stephen F. Austin.
    Awarded to MissHannah WImberly, 7th Grade
     - This award is in recognition of an essay on the Texas Rangers.

World Issues Conference at Texas A&M University - First Place Team
    Awarded in the area of Topic Research to Miss Claire Wimberly and Hannah Wimberly, 7th Grade
     - This award is in recognition of a project on genetic engineered foods in the 6th - 12th grade category.

National Stock Market Game - 7th Place National Winner
    Awarded to Mr. Alex Opekun, 6th Grade
     - This award is a national recognition in the area of Essay Writing.
     - Alex completed an analysis of a selected stock and current events which effect the stock.

Spelling Bee Award - Winners
    First place awarded to Saagar Pateder - 5th Grade
    Second place awarded to Hannah Wimberly - 7th Grade

Our previous award was renewed for the upcoming school year! This was awarded to The Galloway School for an application prepared and submitted by Mrs. Sharleen Bullion, Science Teacher, & Mrs. Judy True, Language Arts & Social Studies Teacher, about incorporating energy topics into the school curriculum

     Awarded to Mrs. Sue Harral, Social Studies Teacher
     - This award is in recognition of excellence in teaching Texas history.




2004-2005

     Awarded to Miss Jasmine Li, 5th Grade
     - This award is in recognition of an essay on Lewis and Clark and the Corp of Discovery.

  Daughters of the Republic of Texas (DRT) Award - First Place Winner
    Awarded to Miss Rachel Slusky, 4th Grade
    - This award was given in the annual writing competition on the subject of the San Jacinto Monument.

  The Faithful Fathering Initiative in Texas Essay Contest--State Sponsored Program
      1st Grade: First Place Winner-Xavier Ferrell;
          Finalists: Livia Lavender, Erica Kropp and Bharat Akshar.
      3rd Grade: First Place Winner-Tanner Ellis;
          Finalist: Cole Farine
      - Galloway also received a special award for the highest percentage of entries in this competition

  First Annual Galloway Spelling Bee
      Winner: Mr. Zachary Fattig, 4th Grade
      First Runner-Up: Mr. Ryan Larsen, 4th Grade

Teacher Awards
  Texas History Teacher Award Given By Decendents of San Jacinto
     Awarded to Mrs. Sue Harral, Social Studies Teacher
     - This award is in recognition of teaching students Texas history.
